Terms of Stay
These terms apply to every reservation at Alphaus, whether you book with us directly or through a partner. They are here so that you know exactly what to expect, from the moment you reserve until the day you leave.
01. Reservations
A reservation is confirmed once you receive our written confirmation and, where requested, the deposit has been paid. Please check your confirmation carefully and let us know straight away if anything is not as expected.
02. Rates and taxes
Rates are quoted per room, per night in Swiss francs and include VAT and breakfast unless stated otherwise. The local tourist tax is charged separately per person, per night.
03. Deposits and payment
We may ask for a deposit of up to 30% of the total stay at the time of booking, and the balance is settled on departure. We accept major credit cards and bank transfer. Rates booked under a special offer may require full prepayment.
04. Cancellation and no-show
Reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before arrival in the winter season (December to March) and up to 7 days before arrival for the rest of the year. Later cancellations, early departures and no-shows are charged the first night, or the full prepaid amount for non-refundable rates.
Festive periods and group bookings may carry their own conditions, which we will confirm when you reserve.
05. Arrival and departure
Rooms are available from 15:00 on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 11:00 on the day of departure. We are happy to arrange an earlier arrival or later departure when the house allows, and we will gladly keep your luggage in the meantime.
Swiss law requires every guest to present a valid passport or identity card on arrival.
06. Children and extra beds
Children of all ages are welcome. Cots are provided free of charge, and extra beds can be arranged in suites on request for an additional nightly fee.
07. Pets
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in selected rooms for a nightly fee. Please let us know when you book so that we can prepare.
08. House rules
Alphaus is a non-smoking hotel, indoors and on balconies. A cleaning fee applies if smoking leads to additional cleaning. We kindly ask all guests to respect the calm of the house, particularly between 22:00 and 07:00.
09. Spa and activities
Use of the thermal circuit is reserved for guests aged 16 and over, and children are welcome in the pool at set family hours. Please tell our therapists about any health conditions before a treatment. Outdoor activities depend on weather and mountain conditions and may be moved or cancelled for your safety.
10. Liability
Guests are responsible for any damage they cause to the hotel and its furnishings. Valuables should be kept in the safe in your room; the hotel is liable for lost or damaged belongings only as provided by Swiss law.
11. Unforeseen events
If events beyond our control, such as avalanches, road closures or extreme weather, prevent us from honouring a reservation, we will offer to move your stay to new dates or refund any amounts paid.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Saanen, Canton of Bern, Switzerland.
